Barcelona is on the verge of signing "the best contract in the world of football"

On Friday, a meeting was held between the leaders of Barcelona, where it was confirmed that the Catalan club will sign the biggest sponsorship contract in the history of football with Nike. Until the official announcement of the deal, all that remains is for Nike representatives to put their signatures on the contract, Catalan RAC1 reported.

The contract will be signed until 2038 and the current earnings from the existing contract with Nike will increase by 48 million euros per year in the next four years and then in the next ten years by around 60 million euros per year. In addition, Barcelona will receive a bonus of 100 million euros for the extension of the contract. Simply put, it is about 125 million euros per year when the total income is divided into contract years.

This is a big step for Barcelona, which has been in a major financial crisis for the past ten years. This crisis was most evident when Dani Olmo arrived from RB Leipzig this summer and had to miss games at the start of the season because the club could not sign him before selling some of the players to repsket the financial fair play.

Laporta's plan is to completely stabilize the situation in the next two years, and the contract with Nike is one of the steps in this direction. "It will be the best contract in world football," Laporta told Barca One a month ago. "The contract could have been signed in August, but not because I wanted to win even better conditions. Now we're close," he added then, and now it turns out he was telling the truth.

Once the representatives of Nike sign this contract, the status of Olmos must also be resolved. Accordingly, Diario Sport has written about the problems that threaten Olmos if Barcelona fails to sign a contract with Nike before January.

This would be a problem not only because of the January transfer window, but also because of the signing of Olmos and Pau Victor for the second half of the season. Both, writes Sport, are only registered until December 31 and the club without Nike only has the money to register one of them. /Telegraph/
