A spectator has died and several others have been injured after an accident during an Endurance race at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany.
The protagonist of the accident was the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 of the young English pilot, Jann Mardenborough, which spun in the air and after a flight of more than 30 meters ended up on the stairs filled with spectators.
The Mardenborough pilot got out of the car unharmed, reports bota.al, while the race was suspended and did not continue.
"The opening race of the Endurance VLN championship at the Nurburgring has been marred by an accident with several injured spectators. One of them died despite the efforts to give him immediate help".
"The organizers are deeply affected and their thoughts go out to the families and friends of the victims of the accident," said a statement from the organizers.
