Former Arsenal star diagnosed with tuberculosis

According to a report from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the PSV player who has been diagnosed with tuberculosis is Lucas Perez.

The Spanish striker has been placed in isolation and has little chance of playing for the rest of the season.

The Telegraph has reported that PSV's Lucas Perez is suffering from tuberculosis. The club announced the case on Monday, and the newspaper revealed that the affected player is Perez.

"One of PSV's players has been diagnosed with active tuberculosis. The player in question is feeling well at the moment. Although the possibility of further infections is low, the situation is being closely monitored according to standard protocols," the club said in a statement, which did not reveal the player's identity.

Then, The Telegraph published a report confirming that Lucas Perez is affected, saying that he will not play for the rest of the season.

"The person in question will have to stay in isolation for three to four weeks and undergo antibiotic treatment. This has a major impact on the player's physical condition. He will be out for a long time and it is very doubtful that he will be able to play again this season."

PSV has taken all necessary measures, starting with investigating the source of the infection, as well as notifying all parties involved.

"At the moment, there is no indication that people in the vicinity of the player affected by this disease have been infected. The club is not authorized to provide further details on the identity of the affected member," the club's statement continued.

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by a bacterium that usually affects the lungs and can be spread through the air.Telegraph/
