Khabib admits that he used Ronaldo's winning mentality for his achievements in the UFC

Khabib Nurmagomedov has admitted that he is using Cristiano Ronaldo's winning mentality to achieve more in the UFC.

The Dagestani star will defend the MMA champion title tonight, as he will face Justin Gaethjen, who is the interim champion.

The 32-year-old fighter believes that the advice given to him by the 35-year-old has influenced him for good and he continues to follow them.

"When I met Ronaldo, I had a lot of questions to ask him. I wanted to know how he manages to be the best for 17 years in a row," said Khabib.

"Since 2003, he has been playing at a high level and every season he has raised himself higher."

"He won the Ballon d'Or five times, as well as the Champions League five times. I was curious to know how he achieves that and he openly told me about it."

"As far as I understood, it was energy, desire, motivation, discipline, recovery techniques, regimen to your shame and when you combine it all - they give the result", he added further.

Ronaldo and Khabib have been seen together in several parties, while the Portuguese has not forgotten to give him a shirt when he was at Real Madrid. /Telegraph/
