Tirana is one of the most polluted cities in Europe. This has been proven again by the World Health Organization, which confirms the fact that the dust and pollution in Tirana are many times beyond the permitted norms.
The news is announced by "Gazeta Shqiptare". In Tirana, 500 citizens die a year as a result of polluted air. According to the WHO expert, Miital Trzyzanawski, Tirana is one of the most polluted cities in Europe.
"There are 500 deaths a year due to pollution. The situation is urgent and concrete measures must be taken. This accounts for approximately 13% of the total number of deaths", he emphasizes.
WHO has asked the municipality and the government to take measures for this problem, otherwise the ecological consequences in the future will be devastating for Tirana, while the number of its citizens, who will die from the dust, will increase. /Bw/Telegraph/
