Eminem's ex-wife Kim Scott Mathers was photographed for the first time in four years since her stint in rehab and attempted suicide in 2021 during a walk in Shelby Township, Michigan earlier this month.
The 48-year-old, who was hospitalized following a suicide attempt following the death of her mother, was seen running errands and stopped by a pizza chain before heading to her next destination.
Kim had her blonde hair cropped short as she showed off a number of tattoos on her arms, wearing a black T-shirt and ripped jeans. Dailymail.
According to The Sun, she expressed that she was getting 'better' after going through a difficult time after experiencing the loss of family members - both her mother and twin sister, Dawn.
"It's been a tough time, I've lost my mom, dad and sister [in the last 10 years]," Mathers said. "[But] I'm fine. I've been clean since October, I went to Jefferson House...for 45 days."
Kim was also spotted a few days earlier loading items into a vehicle outside her home while wearing a light blue, backless pantsuit that was made from a denim material.
She also explained that her children have been 'very supportive' of her as she focused on her health and said she was 'now on medication'.
On July 30, 2021, Kim attempted suicide and was hospitalized after medics responded to a frantic 911 call from her home in Michigan, TMZ reported at the time.
Upon arriving at the home, first responders found Mathers was 'combative and violent' and also had 'several small lacerations on the back of her leg,' the media outlet further reported.
According to a police report, obtained by Page Six at the time, Kim was found 'bleeding profusely' and was on the bathroom floor holding an 'unidentified object' in her hands.
The report alleged that she had "attempted to strike the responding officer" and added that Mathers appeared to have "difficulty speaking, was slurring her speech and later fluctuated in different levels of consciousness."
A box containing 'random messages' that Kim had written to family members was also discovered. Also inside was a 'do not resuscitate' request that she had also written.
The Sun reported immediately after the attempt that Kim had 'left a note' and begged the police not to be called.
In audio obtained by the media, an unidentified woman could be heard telling a dispatcher that Mathers had tried to harm himself after taking pills.
When asked how Kim had tried to harm herself, the caller said: “I don't know I just got out, I have someone there with her. There's blood everywhere on the bathroom floor."
She was later heard saying: "She had the door locked and wouldn't let me in. And she was lying on the floor saying: 'Don't call the police, don't call the police.'"
TMZ had claimed that Kim was taken to a hospital to undergo a medical and psychological evaluation, but was sent home to recover.
The suicide attempt came just days after her mother, Kathy Sluck, passed away at the age of 65 on July 23, 2021. The following day, an online obituary page shared a dedication posted by Kim Mathers, in which she expressed the pain of loss.
In 1989, Kim first met Eminem at a house party when she was just 13 and the rapper was 15. Both she and her sister, Dawn, had run away from home and ended up living with Eminem and their mother his for a short time.
In 1995, they welcomed their daughter Hailie Jade, 27, and married in 1999, but their marriage ended in divorce two years later in 2001.
The pair later remarried in January 2006, however, Eminem filed for divorce just four months later in April.
He notably adopted Kim's late sister's daughter Alaina, 30, in the early 2000s and even walked her down the aisle when she married in June this year. /Telegraph/
