"The Voice Australia" winner Lachie Gill says he hasn't met his mentor Rita Ora since the show ended.

Australian performer Lachie Gill has recently confirmed that he no longer has any relationship or communication with Albanian-British pop star Rita Ora, despite her being the mentor who guided him to victory on "The Voice Australia" in 2022.

This revelation was made during a question-and-answer session with followers on social media, where the 27-year-old, who is a physical education teacher, admitted that his relationship with Rita ended after the show, writes Dailymail.

However, Lachie does not show any negative feelings towards Rita. In a video he posted on Instagram, he expressed himself with a slight smile and nostalgia, captioning the clip: "The most common question has finally been answered."

In the video, he responded negatively to followers' questions such as: "Are you still friends with Rita Ora?" and "Do you still talk to Rita?" When asked if he had met Rita afterwards, he shook his head regretfully and simply wrote: "No."

But Lachie ended the post with a wistful smile, sharing a clip from the finale of "The Voice" where he and Rita sang Lady Gaga's hit "Always Remember Us This Way" together, accompanying it with the words: "But... I will always remember it this way."

Since winning "The Voice," Lachie released the EP "Write It Out" in 2023, after releasing two singles in 2022: "Wasted Time" and "Sad Summer."

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, the last contact with Rita occurred immediately after the end of the show, when she sent him a message: "I'm so proud of you. We won! I'm incredibly proud!" - recalls Lachie.

Winning “The Voice Australia” in 2022 brought him not only 100 Australian dollars, but also a record deal with Universal Music Australia. Excited, he said after being announced the winner: “Oh my God! I never would have imagined this from the beginning. I’m totally surprised. Thank you so much!”

Rita Ora, for her part, had been working hard to have him on the team from the start. She described Lachie as an "extraordinary storyteller," saying: "He sings like it's the last time - every time."

Lachie, on the other hand, thanked Rita for the most valuable advice he had received from her: "You've given me difficult songs, but you've always told me: 'Don't try to be someone else, just do it your way, Lachie.'"

In an open interview about his career in 2023, he admitted that success in music is incredibly difficult, even if you are the winner of a well-known show:
"Many people think that if you win a TV show, you automatically become a star. But it doesn't work that way. There are thousands of artists out there, and you have to be somehow special for someone to want to listen to you and not someone else."

This also applies to other artists who have not been on the scene for long – as happened with the winner of "The Voice" in 2021, Bella Taylor Smith, in contrast to the successful career of Guy Sebastian, the first winner of "Australian Idol". /Telegraph/
