Extraordinary gesture by Karim Adeyeyemi, praised by the German referee

Karim Adeyemi was Borussia Dortmund's hero in the 1–0 victory against VfL Wolfsburg, not only for the decisive goal, but also for an extraordinary "fair-play" gesture that caught everyone's attention.
In the first half, the German striker deliberately kicked the ball out of play when Wolfsburg's Patrick Wimmer was injured, even though Dortmund had a golden opportunity to attack.
The referee of the match, Daniel Siebert, spoke to DAZN after the match, praising the German star for the gesture, after saying that if Dortmund scored he would be under great pressure.

"I would like to use the scene, because it is not so common in professional football to see such a good act of fair play. Normally, a player would have taken the chance, gone for the goal and created a numerical advantage," referee Daniel Siebert explained to DAZN.
"The Wolfsburg players would have been crazy if Dortmund had taken advantage of the injury and scored. Of course I would have had a massive confrontation on my hands. But Adeyemi understood the situation, took the ball out voluntarily and said he didn't want to take advantage of an opponent's injury."
"I think this is fantastic. We will definitely note and praise this in the match report. More on this, dear professionals," the German referee concluded. /Telegraph/
