Great Britain sends AMRAAM air defense missiles to Ukraine

Great Britain will send air defense missiles to Ukraine in order to protect its skies from Russian attacks, the British Minister of Defense, Ben Wallace, has announced.

AMRAAM is the first missile system that is donated to Ukraine, so that it can fight the missiles of the Russian army, Telegrafi reports.

The new air defense missiles are supposed to help and protect Ukrainian infrastructure after Moscow this week launched a deadly wave of missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and power plants.

Great Britain and its allies in the G7, after this meeting, accused Russian President Vladimir Putin and its forces of war crimes, promising to "provide financial, humanitarian, military, diplomatic and judicial assistance, and that they will stand by Ukraine until it is necessary".

The Kremlin's shift in strategy to attack civilian-populated areas and civilian infrastructure came as a result of the powerful explosion that damaged the strategically important and symbolic bridge in Crimea, which connects Russia with annexed Crimea.

On the other hand, it has been announced that Great Britain and other Western governments are sending more weapons to Ukraine, or are getting ready to provide additional assistance.

AMRAAM missiles will be sent this week to Ukraine, in order to be used together with the NASAM missile defense system, which was donated by the United States, according to the statement of the British Ministry of Defense. /Telegraph/
