Khaby Lame breaks silence, TikTok star speaks out for first time after becoming famous without saying a word

The world's most famous and least talkative TikTok star has spoken on camera and people have been surprised.

Khaby Lame - who this month overtook Charli D'Amelio to become the world's most followed TikToker with 144.9 million likes - is known for his videos in which he reacts to other people's funny 'actions' on TikTok usually showing a simpler way of doing that action.

Additionally, he has tens of millions of views on his posts without opening his mouth, instead treating viewers to his facial and hand expressions.

Well, if you've ever wondered what Lame's voice sounds like, think no more as he was heard speaking in an interview with 'Nas Daily'.

It is extremely rare to hear his voice on social media as all his videos on his TikTok account are non-verbal and his fans have been left stunned.

Meanwhile, Khaby recently revealed why he never talks in his videos and told CNN that his muted reactions were meant to personify the term 'shaking his head', with his videos regularly showing his exasperation at oddly complicated parts of life.

“I came up with the idea because I was seeing these videos going around and I liked the idea of bringing some simplicity to it. The type of gesture came by chance, but the silence did not. I thought of a way to reach as many people as possible. And the best way was not to speak", he said.

"Maybe because my facial expressions are funny and make people laugh, this simplicity makes people laugh and I love that," he said.

Khaby was born in Senegal who moved to Italy at a young age. His popularity really increased during the COVID-19 pandemic after he lost his job as a factory worker.

While his first videos included dancing, video game reactions, and comedy skits, he finally made a breakthrough by doing something quite unique.

For Khaby, all it takes is a shrug, a gesture or a facial expression to mock these videos – and he does it all without words.

The global appeal of not talking on his TikToks means that his content is easy for almost everyone to understand.

Khaby's dream, one day, would be to make a movie with Will Smith, who is supposedly one of his fans.

He recently passed Charli D'Amelio to become the most followed account on TikTok.

18-year-old D'Amelio began her career on the social media platform in 2019 and quickly became the most followed content creator on the platform, reaching 100 million followers in 2020. /telegraph/
