A grave tragedy has struck the Macedonian music scene, after a devastating fire at a discotheque in Kocani, North Macedonia, claimed the lives of several members of the popular hip-hop group DNK and their staff.

Among the victims were singer Andrej Gorgievski, drummer Gjorgi Georgiev, pianist Filip Stevanovski and the band's photographer Aleksandar Efremov, who accompanied them to almost all of their concerts.

Also later confirmed was the loss of Sara Projkovska, who was a supporter of the band and worked as a professor. Another victim was guitarist Aleksandar Kolarov.
The Mayor of Strumica, Kostadin Kostadinov, expressed his sorrow for the loss of his fellow citizen, Gjorgi Georgiev: "Oh beautiful child, we searched for you in all the hospitals, hoping to find you... But then we received the tragic news that I would never want to hear. Strumica has lost a talented musician, a dear friend and a man with a big heart.
