Since the beginning of March, the workers of Jugohrom have been left without salaries because their employment contracts were terminated by the factory managers, writes Koha newspaper. After this decision, the union of the workers of this metallurgical combine reacted, from where they say that the workers have already been left on the streets and have no income to support their families.

"After all the pressures and requests we have made to the state institutions, they have been deaf and we have not received any response, although in the last meeting we had in the government with Prime Minister Emil Dimitriev, where the Minister of Ecology, Bashkim Ameti, was also present, we have some positive signals, but we expect the government to have a meeting on Friday and we hope for a positive decision to resume the work of the Jugohrom combine. We can't wait until Friday, because our financial resources have been used up, since the workers have left work since March and stayed on the streets", declared Bajram Amiti, president of the Jugohromt Workers' Union.

According to Bajrami, if the government brings a negative decision, then we will continue with the pressures and this time they will be more powerful.

Otherwise, after the decision of the State Ecology Inspectorate to close the Jugohrom plant as the biggest polluter in Pollog, the protests of the non-governmental associations have stopped, while the Jugohrom workers are now protesting, who demand that the government find a solution for these workers who are left on the road.
