Inside the luxurious bunker where the world's richest people will take shelter if World War III breaks out

A luxury "Doomsday" bunker with Al-led healthcare and glamorous suites will open in 2026.

US-based company SAFE has revealed plans to build a $300 million bunker in Virginia that would house 625 of the world's richest people in the event of a global disaster.

The underground bunker, which has been dubbed Aerie, will offer customers the chance to survive if there is a disaster above ground – although they will have to spend $20 million each to secure it.

Despite being located near the White House in Washington, the directors of the new shelter have insisted that the location of the construction is simply 'coincidence' and has nothing to do with global tensions - and fears of a possible World War III.

It is learned that the bunker is just one of a string of similar shelters built for the ultra-wealthy in recent years, with Kim Kardashian, Mark Zuckerberg and Tom Cruise admitting to having built their own, reports the Telegraph.

Those willing to pay the high price will not only have access to the bunker "if the world ends", but will be able to step inside whenever they feel their 'safety threatened'.

Beyond the marble floors, Aerie will offer guests a range of unparalleled amenities, including 'AI-powered' medical care, 'countless wellness programs' and a perfect blend of 'protection and luxury'.

The accommodation also comes with luxurious dining facilities, an indoor pool, diving center, IV therapy rooms and a climbing wall.

According to SAFE's director of medical preparedness, Naomi Corbi, the 'impenetrable residence' will emphasize privacy and security.

She said the bunker will offer shelterees the privacy to 'conduct business' while enclosed behind 'impenetrable' walls.

“The company's team of highly specialized medical professionals will bring the same standards of the White House Medical Unit directly to you,” SAFE wrote.

"Modern robotic services provide high-level medical care and emergency response, regardless of location," the company added.

But the celebrities and tycoons who will be housed there will not lack for views as thanks to 'interactive walls and ceilings' they will be able to imagine themselves anywhere.

Otherwise, beyond the Virginia-based bunker, the company has plans to expand shelters to other parts of the US.

SAFE founder and president Al Corbi said: "It's a coincidence, but it's the richest country per capita."

The decision to build the high-end shelter was reportedly inspired by the brutal death of one of SAFE's clients, who spent $10 million on a custom security system – only to end up being killed when a gunman opened fire on him at a concert.

Although it will take several years to complete construction, a taster experience of the shelter will be available in 2026, when potential customers can visit it to decide whether or not to pay for it.

The company has reportedly received thousands of requests from wealthy figures around the world.  /Telegraph/
