Air travellers in Germany are set to face chaos this week after the country's largest airline Lufthansa announced plans to cancel 3,800 flights in the face of a threatened three-day strike by pilots. Lufthansa said it was cutting services from 02 through 04 April after a breakdown in retirement and pay talks helped to pave the way for what would be one of the biggest strikes in the airline's history. About 425,000 passengers are expected to be hit by the industrial action which was called last week by the pilots' union, Vereinigung Cockpit, Lufthansa said. Only about 500 Lufthansa short-and-long haul flights will be operated during the three-day strike. EPA/MAJA HITIJ 10:"MAJA HITIJ
