According to a recent report from Kantar Worldpanel, Google's Android mobile platform is steadily growing in Europe, namely in the United Kingdom, as sales of smartphones based on this operating system have surpassed those of the Apple phone, the iPhone.
In this report, it is said that 49.9 percent of smartphones sold in the period of 12 weeks, or until October 2, are Android, while 18.5 percent are Apple iPhone and 22.5 percent of sales go to RIM BlackBerry.
The report also reveals an interesting detail regarding the sale of mobile phones, while it is said that about 70 percent of the total number of phones sold are smartphones.
