Angelina Jolie allegedly broke up with her brother as he lives alone and uncared for in a seedy, crime-ridden suburb

Angelina Jolie's secret brother James Haven is said to not be on good terms with his sister.

Despite being born into Hollywood royalty, Haven, 47, was seen in public for the first time in years, regularly visiting karate instructor Ashley Reign's modest home in the San Fernando Valley.

The eldest child of the winner of the "Oscar" award, Jon Voight, looked sporty in some pictures recently shot by the paparazzi.

He was seen going undercover wearing a face mask and hat at all times while wearing sunglasses even after dark.

Haven had been working as a full-time carer for Angelina's six children, but he is thought to have been 'fired' from that role following her divorce from Brad Pitt and has not been seen in public with his sister in recent times.

A resource for Dailymail said: "Angelina and James are widely believed to have split from their close sibling relationship several years ago."

“They have been inseparable; he was her companion and was her best friend for so many years as well as a devoted brother,” the sources further revealed.

“James helped raise her children and he sat whenever Angelina and Brad wanted some private time. It's fair to say that he was only a handful of people who felt comfortable watching him."

"But all of a sudden and without any real explanation their communication seemed to stop out of nowhere. He does his thing, she does hers, and while they may be cordial from a distance, you certainly don't see or hear them together."

"Obviously only they know what really happened, but it's sad and the situation doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon," the sources added.

The Canoga Park housing complex where Haven now resides is a long way from Angelina's home.

One-bedroom units cost as little as $1450, cats can be seen hunting mice in the gardens, and discarded furniture piles up on the sidewalk outside.

Just around the corner is a notorious strip club called Xposed where two men were killed in a shootout in 2016.

An eyewitness who saw Haven in the building complex said: "It's in a very downtrodden and rude neighborhood."

"There are homeless people living in the bushes among piles of garbage on the sidewalk and rats running around."

“The road is always very busy, but it is unclear and there is a strange, sinister atmosphere. People look downcast."

“After dark is not the kind of neighborhood you want to walk around in. It's a scary place."

"Haven really stands out too because he's so tall and wears sunglasses at night."

Canoga Park had significantly higher crime rates during the first six months of 2020 than surrounding neighborhoods in the San Fernando Valley, with 144.1 crimes per 10,000 people according to the LA Times.

There were 129 violent crimes and 744 property crimes in the area for the same six-month period.

It ranks 40th out of 209 Los Angeles neighborhoods for property crime and 52nd for violent crime. /Telegraph/
