Rutte appreciates Switzerland's military contribution to Kosovo

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met in Brussels with Federal Councillor Martin Pfister from the Federal Department for Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (VBS/DDPS).
"It was good to meet Federal Councillor Martin Pfister and thank him for Switzerland's contribution to the NATO peacekeeping mission, KFOR, in Kosovo. We also discussed ways to deepen our cooperation with Switzerland," Rutte wrote in X.
Since October 1999, the Swiss Armed Forces have been participating in NATO's international peacekeeping mission, Kosovo Force (KFOR), in Kosovo with the Swiss Company and Swisscoy contingents.
The number of personnel in the Swiss Armed Forces currently stands at 215, and the current mandate expires at the end of 2026.
