"PDK and LDK are leaving RTK without salaries" - Murati reacts after the strike announcement by the RTK Union

Following the announcement by the Independent Trade Union of RTK and the Trade Union Association of Radio Kosovo of a strike due to delays in the budget transfer, the acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, has reacted.
"All that is needed for the budget execution for RTK is the decision of the Parliamentary Budget Committee. With that decision, the State Treasury executes the transfer of funds within a day, as it does every time," said Murati.
He added that the current delays in budget execution are not a result of a lack of funds, but of the political refusal of parties to form parliamentary committees.
"However, PDK and LDK are refusing to establish Parliamentary Commissions, and consequently are leaving RTK, the municipalities of Pristina, Gjilan, and Zubin Potok without a budget, as well as jeopardizing the approval of the budget for 2026," the acting minister emphasized.
According to him, the argument that parliamentary committees cannot be formed because it is not yet known who is in power and who is in opposition does not hold up.
"The Assembly can initially form only the permanent committees: for the budget, for legislation, for European integration, and for the rights of communities. These committees would be sufficient to review all emergency issues such as the budget and the EU growth plan," Murati said.
He also mentioned that other commissions could be formed later, when there is a functional government, and that "until then, there could be a temporary solution that allows overcoming the impasse. All that is needed is political will from the PDK, LDK and AAK." /Telegraph/
