Ford updates oval sign with blue color

The American car giant has made a subtle but significant change to its iconic blue oval badge, in what is believed to be only the ninth change in the company's 120-year history, and the first update in 20 years.

Ford's new badge - which has a darker blue background than before and white lettering instead of chrome - was unveiled earlier in the week when the updated range was also launched in the US of Ford F-150 pickups.

Although Ford did not make a fuss about the new sign, it is clear that it has received a new look - not dissimilar to the subtle update of the VW logo (black background, whiter letters).

Drive writes that he has contacted Ford Australia to ask when the new sign will appear on the cars sent to this country, but that he has not yet received an answer.
