FedEx teams up with Neolix to test autonomous delivery vehicles

Global express shipping giant FedEx announced it is working with China's Neolix to test autonomous delivery vehicles in China.

According to foreign media, Telegraph reports, this marks the first time that FedEx has partnered with a local Chinese technology company for driverless vehicle tests.

The partnership signifies FedEx's efforts to embrace innovative, sustainable and intelligent logistics in China.

FedEx revealed that the vehicles in cooperation with Neolix will be electric with a range of 100 km on a full charge and will have L4 autonomous functions.

The vehicles will be fitted with an "interchangeable cargo box" and the maximum load capacity is approximately 500 kg.

“The rapid growth of e-commerce requires more flexible and efficient digital logistics solutions to solve 'last mile' delivery challenges. Our collaboration with Neolix will help us further understand the role of autonomous vehicle technology in increasing operational flexibility and diversity, which is our latest initiative to support sustainable and intelligent logistics," said Eddy Chan, vice president and senior president, FedEx China. /Telegraph/
