"With love from Kosovo", is the phrase that accompanies the end of every letter sent to distant destinations, to express their gratitude or love through postal letters. Such a letter takes on more meaning when its envelope is not completely white, but stamped with a postage stamp which at first glance detects the country from which it was sent.

Since 2002, Kosovo has a treasury full of postage stamps, which are deposited in the Philately of the Post of Kosovo.

Part of the postage stamps are the picturesque panoramas of various places in Kosovo, prominent personalities and iconic figures from art and culture.

The celebration of the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, since February 17, 2008, over the years has involved various state and cultural organizations. On the 15th anniversary of Independence, the contributions during the war for freedom and the achievements in culture and art are remembered. Philately of Kosovo through postal stamps, postal currency which can be produced and issued only by independent and sovereign states, has been a faithful follower of the achievements of the state of Kosovo.

Telegrafi paid a visit to the Philately of the Kosovo Post, to see these special symbols up close, while the manager of the Philately, Fakete Kadiu, informs us of the treasure found there.

"Now, when we look back on those challenges, they seem a little unbelievable. Until the declaration of independence, all postage stamps have been monitored and assessed - whether they can be included - by the UNMIK legal office. The postage stamp commission was aware that the declaration of independence of the Republic of Kosovo will take place, but it did not know the exact date. So we have started with the preparations of the postage stamp that would mark the culminating event", Fakete Kadiu begins her story, for Telegrafin.

She further shows that among the most special postal issues from Philately remains the one with red Kosovo, which symbolizes the country born from a bloody battle.

"I remember that for days, maybe even months, we worked with colleagues to prepare all the products that will be included in that show. It was a collective pride to be involved in making such a special show. For local circulation, there was a red postage stamp, a country born of blood - because you know how many sacrifices have been made until the time that Kosovo is a free and independent country", says Kadiu.

But how many postal issues have been issued by the Philately of the Post of Kosovo?

"Until today, we have quite a lot of baggage and ready funds; 247 issues of postage stamps with 640 different views. If it is calculated that during the years 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 we had almost only one issue each, that only enough were produced to meet the needs of the postal service, it is a pretty enviable achievement for a relatively new philately in the region" , Kadi emphasizes.

Collectors of postage stamps, who collect the treasure of shows from different countries of the world, are well-known in the world.

The themes of the postal issues have also been appreciated by international collectors, and no matter how unlikely it may seem, Kosovo counts collectors of postage stamps even in countries that have not recognized the sovereignty of the state, such as: Serbia, Russia or even distant China.

"The most sought after by international collectors are the themes that reflect the achievements of sports, but also of outstanding personalities with world renown. The most requested show has been and remains 'Europe'. It is a topic that all European countries issue. Even though we are not part of the European Union, we issue such topics", said Fakete Kadiu for Telegrafin.

From Majlinda Kelmendi, Rita Ora, Dua Lipa to the virtuosos of Albanian art: the philately of the Kosovo Post is a treasure in itself.

"From the very fact that we are a relatively small country and that we have a very prosperous history, because we are an ancient people, of course we have many talents that make us feel proud. From sports, we had Majlinda Kelmendi, that sportswoman who makes us very proud, because through her participation - in various competitions - our beloved flag has flown", said Kadiu.

She added that the many names that have placed Kosovo's name on international maps have only enriched the philatelic treasure.

"Also from the music scene we have our two stars: Rita Ora and Dua Lipa. The unforgettable, the nightingale of Kosovo - Nexhmije Pagarusha. There are many other names that I couldn't mention all of them individually, but from the figurative arts we have Ibrahim Kodra and Esat Valla - we have many world-renowned artists, we have our honored writers", she added.

In honor of the 15th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, Philately has thought of issuing a special postage stamp, together with the envelope of the first day and a maximum card.

"For the 15th anniversary of Independence, we tried to make a summary of the achievements through the products of our country. In the image of the postage stamp, the protective sign of all the manifestations that will be organized by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is identified - in honor of this very important manifestation. A postage stamp will be issued, the envelope of the first day which is also characterized by the stamp of the first day. In a symbolic amount, it is also the maximum card", said Kadiu for Telegrafin.

Certainly, the design and implementation of these postage stamps goes through a series of challenges.

Kadiu shared some of the problems faced by the Philately of the Post of Kosovo with the readers of the Telegraph, showing that in general the biggest problem remains the small interest of young people to apply in their design.

"The current challenges, compared to the previous ones, are minor. This is because in the vast majority of cases we have the problem of providing designs for postage stamps - which will present our country to the world in a decent way. In the moments like the concrete case, when through the competition we are not able to secure views, we turn to our institutions and have maximum support. The Postage Stamp Commission performs its work without delay. The challenge is only the design because the number of young people who (few) compete is not to be envied", Kadiu said.

The manager of the Filetelia of the Kosovo Post concluded the conversation for the Telegraph with a message to the readers, with the desire that they apply the postal issues in all their deliveries.

"I invite you to be part of using this little ambassador. Through this trip, let's help the postage stamp to present us as best as possible in the snow", she concluded.
