It's finally revealed! Scientists show who loves people more: cats or dogs

The eternal debate between dog and cat admirers is likely to end.

Scientists have discovered which of our favorite animals loves us the most. As part of a BBC2 documentary called “Cats vs Dogs", led by animal experts Chris Packham and Liz Bonnin, a neuroscientist has investigated which species people love, the Telegraph reports.

We already know that dogs release oxytoxin – the 'love hormone'.

However, this test has never been performed on cats before.

"We already have good evidence that dogs love people. "A number of small studies have shown that when owners spend time with their dogs, both the human and the dog release oxytoxin," said Dr. Paul Zak, who conducted this study.

Neuroscientists analyzed oxytoxin levels in cats and dogs - and the results showed that the hormone was increased by an average of 57.2 percent in men, but only 12 percent in cats.

This means that dogs love people more than cats. /Telegraph/
