Putin wants a Korean scenario for Ukraine

Vladimir Putin is seeking to split Ukraine in two, mimicking the post-war split between North and South Korea, the occupied country's military intelligence chief has said.

In comments raising the possibility of a long and bitter frozen conflict, General Kyrylo Budanov, who predicted the invasion of Russia as early as November, warned of a bloody guerrilla war.

The prediction came as Leonid Pasechnik, the leader of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic in eastern Ukraine, said they would join Russia, reports cnn.

"I think that in the near future a referendum will be held on the territory of the republic, during which people will... their opinion on membership in the Russian Federation," he asserted.

We emphasize that the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has stated today that he is ready to discuss the status of the neutral state in exchange for peace.

Otherwise, the delegations of both countries will meet next week in the Turkish state. /Telegraph/
