This Sunday in August, the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, chose to go to Bogë in Rugova, where the opening ceremony of the Traditional Rugova Games "Rugova 2025" took place.

Kurti called it an honor to participate in these games, an event that he said is not only a cultural manifestation, but also a living rite of collective identity and proof, according to him, that heritage is not a memory of the past.

"In these games, where strength, skill and wisdom are displayed, generations are coming together to convey not only the values of the Kelmendi tribe and the Rugova community, but also the spirit of the community that has preserved this tradition for decades. In these fields and mountains, not only individuals compete, but the customs, legends and spiritual strength of our high mountains are revived. This manifestation is also an invitation for us as a state and as a society to not see heritage only as something that we preserve in state museums, but as something that is lived, that is developed, that unites us. Games like these are national treasures that give a living spirit to the territory and a deep sense of belonging", said the acting prime minister.

There, Kurti informed the residents of the area and participants about the start of the feasibility study by the incumbent Government for the reconstruction of the Peja - Kuqishte road.

"I want to inform you that two days ago, the day before yesterday, we started the feasibility study to reconstruct the Peja-Kuqishte road. The reconstruction of the Peja-Kuqishte road, depending on the feasibility study, will cost a total of around 15 million euros, while the rehabilitation of this road began three months ago and will cost around 1.7 million euros. We, as the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, are not only ready, but also interested in investing because of the great natural, cultural, spiritual, national, and state value that the Rugova Mountains have, not only for the residents of this area," said the acting head of government to the participants of the Traditional Games in Rugova, a place he called a national treasure.
