"Those who freed themselves with our blood and suffering are our worst enemies" (Fan Noli)

After the French revolution of 1789-1799, a new era began that shook old Europe from its foundations. His echo gave life to the general movements, which sought on the basis of political and social coexistence: freedom, equality and fraternity of all, guarantee and inviolability of property, secularity of the state, religious tolerance, administrative uniformity.
These principles spread from France to Europe through Napoleon's armies. The continuation of these ideas was the era of Nationalism and the Industrial Revolution which can be considered as the era in which the old Europe of aristocracy, absolute monarchies, societies of the Old Regime was finally shaken, but in which Europe was simultaneously proclaimed of nations, of liberal, constitutional and parliamentary regimes.
On this historical bed, the so-called Greek Revolution (1821-1832) came to life and took place.
Western European interest in Ancient Greece created Philo-Hellenism. Britain's conservative ruling class in particular was very interested in Greece, due to their schooling in classicism, and this led to Britain's support for the Greek Revolution for independence. In fact, the term Greek in the 1821th century had a political meaning and not a national and linguistic one as it has today. Thus, the uprising of 1821 was used by the great European powers by baptizing the insurgents with the common name of Greeks to realize today's political Greece. So all the insurgents of XNUMX, the Arvanites, the Hellenes, the Vlachs and the Bulgarians, equally, after the creation of the kingdom and later of the Greek state, received the common national political name; Greek. The Hellenes themselves, in the XNUMXth and early XNUMXth centuries, preferred to be called Romai and their language Romaikis.
In world historiography, and not even in the narrative of Greek historians, the date 15.01.1821 is not mentioned, when the Assembly of Captains of Rumelia announced the "Alliance of the National Union" of the Albanians, for the launch of the liberation war with the cry: "We have the honor and the nation together - Christians and Muslims!". It is the only fighting organization, which started and led the liberation war of 1821 on the land of the future Greece.
The national day of Greece, March 25, 1821, which is known by world historiography as the date of the blessing in the monastery of Aghia Lavra, of the "Greek" insurgents by the archbishop of Patras, Germanos, is a later invention. The biggest propagandist of this date was F. Pukëvili, who wanted to give the uprising of 1821 a Christian color. It is even known that church prelates, such as Patriarch Grigoris, have condemned the revolution and the insurgents who endangered the Orthodox Church. The reason according to Greek historians was that the religious code did not include revolution.
"Revolution is a bad thing, it is not God's will to rise up and cause trouble."
So, the insurgents were not inspired by the secret "blessings" and "masses", but by the assemblies of Arber captains who appealed to all residents, regardless of religion or race, to fight the 400-year-old Ottoman rule.
The victories of the Arab fighters against the Ottoman army and the tasks given by the Great Powers changed the interests of the church, which after the formation of the Greek state, which was the product of a revolution, should also place the church as part of this revolution. Thus began the necessary fabrication of history about the role of the Orthodox Church in the revolution of 1821. The expression "Greek-Christian", which was not known before 1821, became the ideological basis of the future Hellenic state and the program of the "megalo-idea".
But how much Albanian blood was spilled only during the liberation war of 1821 and the two civil wars?
There is no data. The revolution, like all armed uprisings, is a bloody story. Exterminations and revenges, epidemics and famine, civil wars and murders, looting, refugees and slavery, these are the picture of the revolution and its consequences. The sensational massacres of Psara, Chios, Tripolica and during the whole period of the war, which touched the hearts of the most prominent European intellectuals for their cruelty, mention "Greeks" and "Turks", while the victims, with both designations, were in majority, purely Albanian, because their biggest sin was not being included in the body of Hellenism.
Some of the Arvanite heroes of the uprising of 1821 were: Gheorggio Kundurioti, Kiço Xhavella, Andoni Kryezi, Teodor Kollokotroni, Marko Boçari, Noti Boçari, Kiço Boçari, Dhaskalina Bubulina, Anastas Gjirokastriti, Dhimitër Vulgari, Kostandin Kanari, Gheorggio Karaiskaqi, Odise Andruço , Andrea Miauli, Teodor Griva, Dhimitër Plaputa, Nikolao Kryezoti, Athanasio Shkurtanioti, Hasan Bellushi, Tahir Abazi, Ago Myhyrdani, Sulejman Meto, Gjeko Bei, Myrto Çali, Ago Vasiari and many, many other Albanians. For the denial of the help of the Arvanites in the creation of the Greek state, the race, the Albanian language was first denied, and every old Albanian manuscript written in Greek letters was conserved, to never come out again and to cover them forever with the dust of oblivion.
In his memoirs, Kollokotroni will rightly say: "They put me in prison for 9 months, without seeing anyone, except the guards. For so many months, I didn't know what was happening outside, who was dying, who else was imprisoned. I didn't know why I was imprisoned. I never believed that they would go to this extent to fabricate false witnesses…”
Defense lawyer Klonari said in his speech: "How long will you continue this barbaric attack, gentlemen of the court?" How long will the merciless persecution against those who freed, raised the glory and continue to give glory to Greece…?”
The Austrian publicist and orientalist Jakob Philipp Fallmerayer has said: "The revolution for the independence of Greece was an Albanian and not a Greek revolution."
But the Greeks are busy stealing the history of the Albanians and therefore they don't know who their first inhabitants were.
Who could be their real creators?
The well-known Italian politician and historian, Pietro Scopola, considering all those who "have time left in the 19th century", advises them to study past history, because knowing what happened serves to know who we are and "the recall of historical truths is an act that lies at the foundation of the reconciliation of peoples".
The fact that can no longer be discussed, although until now it was partially hidden, is that 90 out of 100 heroes of the Revolution of 1821 were Arvanites or rather Albanians. That the Arvanites bore the brunt of the liberation war of 1821, apart from being the overwhelming part of the Greek people in the periods of uprising, can also be explained by the fact that the Arvanites were a fighting people whose pride could not allow the humiliation of slavery. The revolution of 1821 was mainly the work of the Arvanites of Çameria, Rumelia, Morea and the Arvanites of the islands of Hydra, Specës, and Psara. The Arban or Albanian people in every country of the Balkans that happened to them, always fought to expel every invader and desecrator of their holy land.
