University of South Carolina anthropology professor Marc L. Moskowitz, in his documentary "Dance for the Dead: Funeral Strippers in Taiwan," puts funeral striptease in a religious and cultural context.

It is in the same context as in some European countries where it is almost normal to pay a mourner - a woman who mourns the dead loudly, so in Taiwan it is common for a stripper to accompany the deceased "to the afterlife" with her dance. /Telegraph/
