Transferred from Switzerland to a war-torn country, Milot Avdyli's brilliance in Ukraine: I work hard to be invited from Kosovo

Milot Avdyli has left Aarau after four years in Switzerland, having decided to continue his career in Eastern European football.

The Dardan offensive midfielder joined the Ukrainian team Vorskla Poltava in the January transfer window, where he immediately began to shine in Ukraine.

Four years of living in Switzerland have made the midfielder from Vushtrri think about taking a step forward in his career, while he sees the Ukrainian championship as a springboard to take even more important steps.

In an interview with Telegrafi, Avdyli talked about everything, the transfer to Vorskla, the fantastic form he is going through, but also the future and the Kosovo National Team.

"After several important seasons with Aarau, I felt that the time had come for a new challenge. I wanted to prove myself in a different environment, where you can grow as a footballer. The offer from Ukraine came at the right time, and it was a well-thought-out decision," Avdyli told Telegraf.

It's wartime in Ukraine, but Avdyli says the club has organized everything to support the players and the city of Poltava is safe.

"Despite the difficult situation in the country, I feel safe and supported at the Vorskla club. The club has organized everything professionally, we are staying in a safe city like Poltava and we have very good conditions for training and matches. Of course there are difficult moments, but my focus is on football and my personal development," Avdyli continued.

The start has not been easy for Avdyl, but as the matches go by, he is proving to be crucial for his team, being declared player of the match in several matches.

"The beginning was not easy, especially due to the change in culture, language and external circumstances, but the club and my teammates have helped me a lot to adapt. Now I feel very good, I am finding myself on the field and I believe that the good performances are the result of the daily work and the support I have received," said Avdyli.

The 22-year-old sees the Ukrainian championship as a good springboard to take another important step in his career.

"Yes, I think the Ukrainian championship has a high level of competition and many players have developed here to move to even bigger championships. Of course, every player has ambitions to move forward, but for now I am focused on my performances and helping Vorskla reach the season's objectives."

Before joining Vorskla, Avdyi had other offers, but the Ukrainian club's project convinced him to join them.

"I had several options during the transfer window, but Vorskla gave me the right feeling from the beginning. The project they presented to me, the way they expressed their trust in me and the role I would have in the team made me feel valued. There was also interest from several other clubs in Europe, but I felt that this was the best step for my development at this stage of my career."

Avdyli also talked about his personal goals and those with the team.

"My personal goal is to improve every day, to raise my level as a player and to always be ready for the national team. I want to give my best in every match, to be consistent and to contribute with goals and assists. With the club, the goal is to reach the top of the championship and fight for participation in European competitions. I am motivated and hungry for success."

Finally, the Dardanian midfielder also spoke about the Kosovo National Team, where he has been part of the U21 team for years, until now he expects to one day be called up by the A National Team.

"Of course, an invitation from the Kosovo National Team is always a dream and a great honor for me. After my transfer to a more competitive championship, I hope that my performances will be noticed and appreciated by the national team staff. I will continue to work hard, give my best in every match and if the invitation comes, I will always be ready to give everything for my country," concluded Milot Avdyli. /Telegraph/
