BMW is one of a number of automotive brands that wants to increase the number of electric vehicles.
Thus, BMW will soon launch a more affordable electric vehicle called the i1, foreign media write, reports Telegraph.
BMW Senior Vice President of Brand and Product Management, Bernd Koerber, said the company would enter "a lower-end market" in order to complement the brand's EV segment.
"There are many relevant markets for this segment, for example Greece, Spain and Italy where the 1-Series is the market contributor there," Bernd was quoted as saying by Auto Express on Friday, April 25.
He also said that the entry-level market like the Series-1 is one of the most important because it can attract young people to own vehicles.
"The second thing is that it's very important for the brand, because what you see in Series 1 is that you have the highest proportion of young drivers," he added. /Telegraph/
