The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has given details of his official visit to Greece.
The chief executive said that on the sidelines of the 25th edition of the SYMI International Symposium, held in Crete, in a meeting with the former Prime Minister of Greece, George Papandreou, he informed him about Kosovo's achievements and the government's plans for development and reforms for the Sovereign Fund and Vocational Education.
He also informed about social and legal justice and the history of war in the present of peace, about the past from the activist and opposition to the good neighborliness of Kosovo that is rejected by Serbia.
"In the conversation with the former Prime Minister of Greece, George Papandreou, which served as the opening for the two panels dedicated to the Balkans, I told about the achievements of Kosovo and the plans of our government, about development and reforms, about the Sovereign Fund and Professional Education, about social justice legal and for the history of war in the present of peace, for my past from activist and oppositionist to the good neighborliness of Kosovo that is rejected by Serbia", wrote Kurti.
He has shown that this year's symposium is entitled "Which world in 2030?" Dealing with the Icarus Syndrome?", where in separate panels with wise presentations and deep discussions according to Chatham House Rules, numerous topics and issues are addressed: from the unfinished Russian aggression in Ukraine to the immeasurable consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, from democracy and law in the Western Balkans to security and resources in the Eastern Mediterranean, from green economic growth to the acceleration of Artificial Intelligence, from European industrial autonomy to the relationship of Europe and the USA with the Global South, from participatory democracy and political campaigns to a new humanity for immortal society.
"The thread that was outlined in the debates and discussions leaned toward common courage as we dream of the future with jubilee numbers of years, as well as remaining in hope while we all examine the possible dangers ahead", continued Kurti.
Otherwise, Prime Minister Albin Kurti met with the emissary of the European Union, Miroslav Lajcak, in Greece, during his stay there, within the framework of the SYMI Symposium.
Through a post on Twitter, Kurti said that he and Lajcak talked about reducing tensions and normalizing relations with Serbia.
"I had a long conversation with emissary Miroslav Lajçak on the sidelines of the 25th Symposium of SYMI in Crete for reducing tensions and normalizing relations with Serbia. We remain committed. The weather was much hotter than our discussion" - Kurti wrote.
The agreed steps are: immediate reduction of Police presence in and around municipal buildings, continuous assessment of the situation for further reduction of this presence, promotion of early local elections, as well as establishment of the necessary legal basis.
Tensions in the north of Kosovo started on May 26, 2023, when the new mayors of Zveçan, Leposaviq and Zubin Potok, entered the municipal buildings with the assistance of the Police.
Otherwise, Symi Symposium this year was held in Crete. Launched in 1998 on the Greek island of Symi, since then it has traveled around different islands bringing together democratic politicians and progressive diplomats from around the world, philosophers, theorists and internationally recognized experts, activists, leaders of civil organizations and managers of top of corporations that affirm social responsibility. /Telegraph/
