Train derails in England, passengers evacuated

A serious incident occurred in Cumbria, England this morning, after a passenger train derailed.
Emergency services are at the scene and around 85 passengers and staff have been safely evacuated.
Initial reports suggest that no one was seriously injured, with four passengers suffering minor injuries.
The accident occurred with the Avanti West Coast train, travelling from Glasgow to London, which derailed between Penrith North Lakes and Oxenholme in the Lake District, near the village of Shap.
British Transport Police confirmed that the locomotive had derailed, but fortunately remained standing.
Network Rail, the company responsible for rail infrastructure, confirmed that an investigation is underway.
Otherwise, the accident has closed all lines north of Preston, causing major disruption to rail services. /Telegraph/
