The alliance between Renault-Nissan occupies the fourth place in the world for the production of cars

The French-Japanese partnership continues its surprising growth. Below you can see the latest results of this cooperation in figures.

Non-American car manufacturers, for only 3.891 deliveries, could be in third place during 2016, in the ranking of the most powerful manufacturers, reports Forbes.

That figure is what separates GM's sales, which is in third place from the sales of the Renault-Nissan (RNA) partnership.

Renault-Nissan is a strategic partnership between the French manufacturer Renault and the Japanese manufacturer Nissan, since 1999. It was formed to save both companies. RNA sold 9.96 million vehicles in 2016 – an increase of 16.8 percent from 2015. This increase was much larger than the top three manufacturers (VW, Toyota and GM).

In Kosovo, the alliance between Renault and Nissan is represented by AutoMita, the company that exclusively sells new Dacia, Nissan and Renault cars.

Nissan also made headlines in March 2017 after workers at their US plant went on strike to form a union. However, the company has strongly opposed the creation of unions in American factories, even though there are unions in 40 other locations of their factories around the world.

Europe, the US and Japan still dominate car production, while the Chinese car industry is fractured. The largest Chinese car group is SAIC Motor, with a total production of 2.26 million cars.

Many of SAIC's figures are calculated in their collaborations with other American or European manufacturers.
