Aerial images reveal the gigantic scale of a $1 trillion new city construction site in Saudi Arabia

Stunning new aerial photos have revealed the gargantuan scale of a construction site for an ambitious new $1 trillion city in Saudi Arabia.
According to foreign media, Telegrafi reports, the images show a "chasm" about 120 kilometers long that has been "carved" to pave the way for a futuristic city full of skyscrapers called "The Line".
If completed, The Line will be part of the vast Neom desert structure and will feature large glass structures over an artificial river, and even a synthetic ski resort.
The mega-scientific project, launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will also come with robots and Artificial Intelligence to serve future residents.
Giles Pendleton, COO for The Line, shared the gorgeous images of the site from above in response to "naysayers" who doubt the grand plans will ever become a reality.
The creators hope that nine million people will live in the city.
The futuristic design plans include trees climbing over the sprawling metropolis of modern architecture in a city that is supposed to be powered entirely by renewable energy.
Pendleton said more than 100 million cubic yards of sand has already been moved.
Bin Salman stressed that he wants the construction of "The Line" to become as iconic and timeless as the Pyramids of Egypt, as well as "putting people first."
The prince ambitiously hopes construction will be completed by 2030, but engineers warned it could take up to 50 years.
He also wants Neom as a whole to create thousands of new jobs and allow the country to become less dependent on oil – when it comes to its assets. /Telegraph/
