The City Theater of Prishtina - "Dodona", on Wednesday will give the premiere of the puppet show, "Doctor Ofmëdhemb", based on the motifs of the famous Russian author, Korney Chukovsky, with dramatization and direction by Melihate Qena.

In a press conference, director Qena stated that she expects the show to be liked by those it is dedicated to - children.

"The main character is that of the Doctor, who befriends children, the sick, and even animals. And, everything does for them. The ethics of this doctor is at the level, something that is probably missing in our hospitals. There is a certain profile of people who should take care of people in need - the sick. This whole tale is interwoven with songs and comic situations, so we hope that it will not be boring for children", said Qena.

The director of "Dodona", Agron Shala, said that "the show has interesting and integrative moments for children, which awaken their curiosity and convey positive messages, because it talks about the victory of kindness and friendship".

He thanked the team that made the show, adding that "'Dodona' is lucky to have a director and an excellent team of animators, who work with great dedication and love for the most sincere audience - the children".

The play "Doktori Ofmëdhemb" talks about a doctor who is devoted to the treatment of animals with his whole being. The Doctor has even turned his own house, not so big, into a kind of small zoo! He understands the plight of animals; loves them as family members; eat and drink with them; treats them and gives them medicine for free... Everyone turned to him with prayers and complaints: "Oh, it hurts here, it hurts there." Therefore, his patients – whether human or animal – called him Ofmëdhemb.

The play deals with the struggle between justice, goodness and beauty, against injustice, evil and ugliness. The show, especially the dramatization and direction of Melihate Qena, is full of unexpected, interesting, impressive and spiritual situations, which will in any case awaken the curiosity of children.

The show stars: Avni Hoti, Roza Berisha, Valdet Rama, Xhejlane Godanci and Avdi Azemi. The music was made by Pranvera Badivuku, while the orchestration was by Hysni Klinaku. The scenography was made by Lumjete Havolli, while the puppets were made by Agron Blakçori. Lighting design by Skender Latifi, while stage workers are: Bedri Maloku, Fadil Bekteshi and Albert Gashi. /Telegraph/
