Kampioni aktual i Eurovision-it ka shprehur mbështetjen e tij ndaj thirrjes për të përjashtuar Izraelin nga gara e vitit 2025.

Nemo Mettler, i cili përfaqësoi Zvicrën dhe fitoi konkursin në vitin 2024 me këngën The Code, kishte qenë më parë kritik ndaj pjesëmarrjes së Izraelit, për shkak të konfliktit të vazhdueshëm në Lindjen e Mesme. Para edicionit të kaluar, Nemo iu bashkua thirrjeve për bojkot nëse këngëtarja izraelite Eden Golan do të lejohej të merrte pjesë në garë.

Si përfaqësuesi i parë haptazi jo i përcaktuar në gjini i Zvicrës në Eurovision, Nemo ishte një nga nëntë artistët që nënshkruan një deklaratë të përbashkët në shenjë solidariteti me Palestinën.

Edhe këtë vit, këngëtari dhe reperi ka përsëritur qëndrimin e tij kundër përfshirjes së Izraelit në këtë ngjarje.

Në një intervistë për HuffPost UK, Nemo tha: “Personalisht mendoj se nuk ka kuptim që Izraeli të jetë pjesë e këtij edicioni të Eurovision-it. Dhe, në këtë moment, as e Eurovision-it në përgjithësi.
