Over 50% of votes counted in South Mitrovica, results vary

In the South Mitrovica Municipality, the mayoral race is taking place with a strong rivalry between the PDK candidate, Arian Tahiri, and the Vetëvendosje candidate, Faton Peci.
According to preliminary results from the Central Election Commission (CEC), Tahiri leads by a small margin.
Me 51,43% of polling stations counted (54 out of 105 total), the results are as follows:
Arian Tahiri (PDK) – 49,12% (7,439 votes)
Faton Peci (LVV) – 47,07% (7,128 votes)
Gezim Plakolli (LDK) – 3,14% (475 votes)
Qazim Nimani (AAK) – 0,68% (103 votes)
So far, they have voted 15,145 citizens, which represents 17,88% of participation out of total 84,695 registered voters in this municipality.
The results indicate a very close race, where the fate of the elections can only be determined after the full vote count.
A runoff remains possible if neither candidate crosses the threshold necessary for victory in the first round.
