Israel continues attacks on Gaza, IDF says it eliminated two Hamas commanders

Israel announces the killing of two Hamas commanders in airstrikes in Gaza.

The Israeli military has announced that it has killed two Hamas members in airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, accusing them of involvement in operations against Israeli forces.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), one of those killed was Salem Jamal Abd al-Rahman Abu Labad, described as the leader of a unit of Hamas's elite Nukhba forces.

The Israeli army said he had participated in the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7, 2023 offensive.

In another attack in central Gaza, according to the IDF, Muhammad Abd al-Nasser Muhammad Khatib, identified by the military as the commander of Hamas' Maghazi battalion, was killed.

The IDF stated that the operations were carried out despite the ceasefire, as the two individuals hit were suspected of planning attacks against Israeli troops.

"Precision airstrikes were carried out to eliminate the threat," the Israeli military said in its statement. /Telegraph
