Shpërthime vdekjeprurëse në Bruksel, të cilat për target patën një stacion metroje dhe aeroportin ndërkombëtar të mërkurën, kanë shkaktuar një kaos në kryeqytetin belg. Fluturimet dhe trenat janë anuluar, dhe autoritetet belge e kanë ngritur nivelin e sigurisë e po ashtu kanë alarmuar për gjendjen e sigurisë.

Shpërthimet e goditën metronë “Maelbeek” – afër institucioneve të Bashkimit Europian – dhe aeroportin ndërkombëtar të Breukselit “Zaventem”, duke lënë të vdekur 34 persona e shumë të tjerë të lënduar.

Sulmet erdhën menjëherë pasi policia belge arrestoi Salah Abdeslam, i cili dyshohet e se i kishte përgatitur sulmet terroriste të Paris-it. Ai ishte kapur të premten, gjatë një bastisjeje të madhe policore në Bruksel, si pjesë e operacioneve të shumta për kapjen e terroristëve të përfshirë në sulmin e Parisit.


Kryeministri Belg, Charles Michel ka bërë thirrje për qetësi dhe ka kërkuar solidaritet në mesin e njerëzve.
