Trump: Iran only talks and doesn't act, praise be to Allah

US President Donald Trump declared that the United States has established complete control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz and hinted that Washington intends to maintain this control.

In a statement, Trump described the US naval blockade as "a wall of steel", claiming that Iran does not have the capacity to challenge it.

Trump said that Iran no longer has a functioning navy and air force, while claiming that the remaining military forces are not being paid and that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been severely weakened.

He also described the Iranian leadership as unreliable and said the country is facing a severe cash shortage and a badly hit economy.

According to Trump, Iran is now "all talk and no action," adding that the country no longer poses the threat it once did in the Middle East.

"Iran only talks and no longer acts; it is no longer the Middle East's bully. Glory be to Allah!" said the 80-year-old.

Trump's statements come at a time of high tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil shipping lanes. Controlling or blocking it could have major consequences for global energy markets. /Telegraph/
