Over 30,000 Russian soldiers were killed or seriously injured in July
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that around 30,272 Russian soldiers have been killed or seriously wounded on the battlefield over the past month.
Publishing the figure on the X platform, along with the nightly address, he said that the data was obtained mainly through Ukrainian drones and only includes cases for which there is clear video evidence.
According to him, this shows that the "trend" on the front lines remains unchanged, with fierce fighting and heavy losses for Russian forces.
The Ukrainian leader stressed that air defense remains the top priority and called on Ukraine's allies to continue their support.
"It is important that our partners listen to Ukraine and know that every air defense package truly saves lives," he said.
The figure of around 30,000 Russian casualties per month has been used previously by Zelensky and several European leaders in recent months.
On Friday, he stated that Russian forces have suffered about 700,000 killed and approximately 1.6 million total losses since the start of the war in February 2022. /Telegraph/
