Netanyahu: Britain could be called the "first Islamic Republic with nuclear weapons"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sparked backlash with some provocative statements towards Great Britain during a studio interview, where he spoke about demographic and political developments in Europe.

In a more relaxed tone, he made a sarcastic comment about British society, saying that Britain could be called the "Islamic Republic of Britain."

"Someone has said that the first Islamic republic with nuclear weapons will be the Islamic Republic of Britain," he said, indirectly referring to the British nuclear arsenal.

However, the statements about Britain served as an introduction to Netanyahu's main message, which was directed at Iran.

Sarcastically referring to the nuclear arsenals of Britain and Iran, the Israeli prime minister said "we make sure there isn't another one, you know, in Iran."

The Israeli prime minister's statements could cause diplomatic reactions in London, especially due to their provocative nature towards one of Israel's allies in Europe.
