Horror movie scenes in Croatia - houses, cars and boats burn in fires

A large fire that broke out last night in Lokva Rogoznica, Croatia, has spread rapidly towards Omis, putting homes and residential areas at risk.

Firefighters are reportedly battling the flames in difficult conditions, aggravated by strong winds.

Images from the ground show the huge size of the fire. Flames have engulfed parts of the road from Ruskamen to Omis, while burned vehicles, houses and boats affected by the fire have been reported.

According to still unconfirmed information, about ten people have been injured, while the material damage is extensive.

Several houses were burned, but authorities still do not have an exact assessment of the damage, index.hr writes.

Due to the danger, residents of Lokva Rogoznica have been evacuated and taken to a reception center set up in the Omiš sports hall.

There are currently around 1,000 people there, who have been provided with beds, food and water.

Authorities have urged residents to leave endangered areas and follow the instructions of emergency teams, while firefighters continue to battle the flames. /Telegraph/
