Guardiola reacts after Arsenal win Premier League - has a message for Arteta

Pep Guardiola has congratulated Arsenal and Mikel Arteta on winning the Premier League title.

Manchester City failed to take their title race to the final round of the season after drawing 1-1 away at Bournemouth on Tuesday night, despite Erling Haaland rekindling their hopes with an injury-time equaliser.

As a result, the Gunners were crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years and with one match left to play.

However, Guardiola was quick to show class, sending a congratulatory message to Arteta after the draw with Bournemouth.

"On behalf of Manchester City and my team, congratulations to Arsenal, Mikel, all the staff, all the players and the fans for this Premier League. They deserve it."

"I'm pretty sure it will be something special for him because he has put in a lot of effort and work. Congratulations to him," said Guardiola.

It remains to be seen whether Guardiola will be in charge of Manchester City next season as the club aim to reclaim the title, while speculation about his future has dominated the media since Monday evening.

Reports claim that the Spaniard has decided to leave his coaching position at the end of the season.

International media have reported that former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is in advanced talks with City to replace Guardiola, with an initial three-year deal reportedly reached "in principle"./ Telegraph /
