Brigitte Macron's daughter in a relationship with a student 20 years younger - the romance that is attracting attention

Tiphaine Auziere, the daughter of France's First Lady, Brigitte Macron, is in a relationship with a student 20 years her junior.

Her new relationship with 22-year-old Antoine Lecomte has also drawn attention for its comparisons to her mother's marriage to French President Emmanuel Macron, who have an almost 25-year age gap.

Auziere shared photos on Instagram from her trip to Amsterdam, where she stayed with Lecomte. The photos showed how they spent their time in the Dutch capital - cruising the canals, visiting exhibitions and enjoying food and drink.

According to French magazine Gala, the couple met this summer in Le Touquet, a coastal town in northern France.

Lecomte, who is into kitesurfing and other water sports, was teaching Auzière how to ride an e-foil, an electric board that uses a hydrofoil to rise above the water's surface.

"They connected immediately. They have a lot in common - a love of Le Touquet and adrenaline, but also travel and entrepreneurship," a source close to Auzière told the French magazine. The lawyer is also said to have already introduced her new partner to her two children, 12-year-old Élise and 10-year-old Aurèle.

The relationship reminded many people of her mother and stepfather.

Tiphaine Auzière and Antoine Lecomte's relationship reminded many of the marriage of Brigitte (73) and Emmanuel Macron (48). The current French president was 15 when he met his future wife. He attended the private school La Providence in Amiens, where Brigitte was a teacher and ran a theater workshop in which he participated.

Brigitte was married to André-Louis Auzière at the time, with whom she had three children. She and Macron eventually became close and began a relationship. When Emmanuel's parents learned of their relationship, they sent him to Paris to continue his education.

"We just couldn't believe it. When Emmanuel met Brigitte, of course we couldn't just say: 'This is fantastic,'" his mother, Françoise Noguès-Macron, had said.

Tiphaine Auzière was nine years old when her mother and Macron's relationship began. "They were very much in love, it was clear and very difficult," she previously told foreign media.
