Iran publishes details of memorandum with US

The US will fully lift sanctions on Iran and pay reparations as part of an agreed framework to end the war, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman has said.

Esmaeil Baghaei said this at the daily press conference, sharing some of the contents of the agreement reached, according to the Iranian version, writes skynews .

What does the agreement foresee, according to Iran's claims?

Iranian Funds: Unfreezing Iran's assets and war reparations are two important economic priorities in this memorandum of understanding, and the US is committed to their implementation.

Sanctions: Washington must lift all primary and secondary sanctions, as well as UN Security Council resolutions. All restrictions on the sale of Iranian oil and petrochemical products will be lifted immediately upon signing the memorandum.

Nuclear program: Details of these nuclear and economic issues will be finalized within 60 days of signing the agreement.

Strait of Hormuz: According to the memorandum, Iran will ensure the safety and secure passage of ships in this important maritime corridor, in cooperation with Oman and in consultation with interested parties. Tariffs will be set.

Lebanon: This country is mentioned three times in the memorandum, and its sovereignty and territorial independence are particularly emphasized.

Violations: If the US does not fulfill its obligations under the agreement, Tehran will take reciprocal measures.

Otherwise, US President Donald Trump has confirmed the agreement has been reached and stated that it will be signed on June 19 (Friday) in Geneva, Switzerland. /Telegraph/
