The Premier League is financially "destroying" Europe: Even relegated clubs earn more than champions of other leagues
The financial gap between the Premier League and the rest of Europe is becoming increasingly absurd, with the latest figures shocking the football world.
According to financial reports, Burnley is expected to benefit from around 160 million euros from television rights and "parachute" payments after being relegated from the Premier League, while Barcelona will collect around 155 million euros from winning La Liga and distributing television rights in Spain.
In other words, a club relegated from the English top flight is earning more than the Spanish champions - a fact that clearly shows how far the Premier League has come in economic terms.
Reports from UEFA and Deloitte reveal that Premier League clubs generate over €7 billion in revenue per season, almost double that of La Liga and the Bundesliga.

Even FC Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer admitted that even the bottom teams in the Premier League earn more from television than the Bundesliga champions.
In Italy, the situation is no better. Serie A has lagged far behind in television revenue growth compared to England, Spain and Germany, while many fans and analysts believe the Italian league is gradually losing its competitive edge in Europe.
Ligue 1 is also facing major financial difficulties due to the crisis in television contracts, making French clubs increasingly dependent on selling talent.
Inter are expected to earn around €15.7 million just from finishing first in Serie A, while total television and domestic distribution revenues in Italy usually reach around €80-100 million for the champion.

Bayern Munich is expected to receive around 83.4 million euros from Bundesliga television rights for the 2025/26 season, more than any other club in Germany.
PSG, despite their total dominance in France, benefit far less from domestic television. Ligue 1 reports suggest the French champions could only receive around €11.7m from national television distribution in the new cycle.
Meanwhile, the Premier League continues to "devour" the global market with record television contracts, giant sponsors and dizzying investments, to the point where newly promoted or relegated clubs have the economic power to compete with Europe's historic giants. /Telegraph/
