Smotrich: Gaza will remain in ruins, in the end there will be migration
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has stated that the Gaza Strip will remain devastated and that, according to him, residents are expected to leave the territory in the future.
"Gaza will be left in ruins. In the end there will be migration, because in the coming decades there will be nothing to look for there," Smotrich said.
The Israeli minister's statement comes at a time when the war in Gaza has caused great destruction, numerous casualties and a serious humanitarian crisis.
Smotrich, one of the most right-wing figures in the Israeli government, has previously made controversial statements regarding the future of Gaza and Israeli control over the territory, while Palestinian leaders and international organizations have opposed any idea of forced population displacement.
Otherwise, since the start of the war on October 7, 2023 between Israel and Hamas, the number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip is over 73,000, according to data from the Gaza Ministry of Health.
On the Israeli side, the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 killed about 1,200 people in Israel, while Israeli soldiers also died during the war. /Telegraph/
