Elon Musk continues to oppose Ukraine's use of Starlink for attacks deep inside Russian territory, despite recent reports that he is willing to support such use of the system.
Three sources familiar with the matter told the Kyiv Independent that the SpaceX CEO has not changed his position on the matter.
This refutes Financial Times reports from August 30 that Musk was open to the possibility of Ukraine using Starlink-equipped drones to attack targets in Russia, with the political approval of the White House.
Kiev has long sought U.S. approval for broader use of the technology in the fight against Russia. According to Ukrainian media, the aim is to strengthen the campaign against Russian ballistic missile systems.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky raised the issue on July 28 during a closed-door meeting with US President Donald Trump. However, Ukraine has not yet received approval for such use of the system.
One of the sources said Musk believes that allowing Ukraine to use Starlink in operations inside Russian territory would not help end the war. /Telegraph
