With over 600 matches managed in the Turkish Super League, Riza Calimbay holds the record as the coach with the most appearances on the bench in the history of the Turkish championship.

As a player, he also developed a great reputation, counting over 500 appearances and eight trophies won, mainly with the Besiktas jersey.

In an interview with Telegrafi , Calimbay spoke about Kosovo's strength and quality, the importance of this match for both national teams, and what factors could decide this match.

Calimbay starts by warning Turkey that Kosovo is a much better and more qualitative team than Romania.

"Kosovo is a much more organized and qualitative team than Romania. For this reason, the match will not be easy for Turkey at all, on the contrary, it will be very difficult, especially if it is played away. If Kosovo is underestimated as a small team, then this could bring negative consequences for Turkey," Calimbay initially told Telegrafi.

Calimbay sees the fact that Kosovo will play this match in front of its own viewers as a huge advantage.

"It is a fact that Kosovo has very talented players, some of whom even play in European championships. This increases the level of the team even more. Moreover, for Kosovo, the opportunity to qualify for the World Cup is extremely important. Playing at home, in front of their own fans, they will give their maximum."

"The support from the fans is expected to be very large. We know that many Albanians and fans from the diaspora will be present, creating an extraordinary atmosphere. This match could take on the dimensions of a real final and should in no way be considered easy."

The former Besiktas coach reveals which factor could be decisive in deciding the winner of this match.

"Unlike Romania, Turkey will face a stronger opponent this time. Therefore, they must take all necessary measures. In my opinion, it is a balanced match and requires maximum concentration from both teams. It will be a very difficult challenge for both sides."

"Of course Kosovo has good players like Vedat Muriqi, Hadergjonaj and Fisnik Asllani. There are at least four or five very quality footballers who should be considered."

"This will make the game difficult for both teams. Both teams need to be careful both in defense and attack."

"Kosovo has very dangerous players, especially in the offensive department. For this reason, Turkey's defense must be extremely attentive throughout the match," said the 63-year-old.

Finally, Calimbay expressed his gratitude and respect for Kosovo, saying that cooperation between the two countries in the sports aspect should be further harmonized.

"Kosovo is very close to us, a country that we love very much. We should always have close relations in terms of football, cooperate more, take players and coaches from each other and do beautiful things together," he concluded.

We remind you that the match between Kosovo and Turkey will be played on Tuesday night, starting at 20:45.
