Police dressed as rodents seize huge amount of narcotics in Peru – 1,700 packages of cocaine and marijuana

This is the hilarious moment a police officer dressed as a capybara rodent carried out a drug raid in Peru.

Footage shows the giant rodent attacking a suspected drug trafficker in Lima on Valentine's Day, the Telegraph reports.

He can be seen entering the house, knocking the man to the ground and handcuffing him.

More than 1,700 packages of cocaine and marijuana were found during the raid, police said.

The bizarre video ends with the 'capybara' posing with the suspect and the quantity of drugs laid out on a table.

The operation was carried out by Peru's Escuadrón Verde – a specialized anti-drug unit that often disguises its agents in fancy dress for holidays such as Valentine's Day, Halloween and Christmas.

They have previously donned Spiderman, Captain America, Thor and Black Widow costumes to carry out drug raids. /Telegraph/
