The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has published a black-and-white video on social media, which it claims shows the attack carried out last night on Iran.

In the video, which is marked as public material ("unclassified"), explosions and plumes of smoke are seen rising into the air, but the target of the attack cannot be clearly identified.

This is the first US attack since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries. The document, also known as the Islamabad Declaration, was signed by US President Donald Trump and his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian.

This memorandum agreed to an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations in all conflict zones, including Lebanon. The agreement provides for the end of the US naval blockade of Iranian ports and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for free and safe navigation of commercial vessels.

Under the agreement, the United States pledged to issue temporary permits for the export of Iranian oil to the world market, as well as begin the process of unblocking Iranian assets frozen abroad.

The memorandum serves as the political basis for negotiations, which within 60 days aim to lead to a final and comprehensive peace agreement, including resolving the issue of the Iranian nuclear program. /Telegraph
